Making Waves at Bodyflight
Bodyflight is proud to announce we will be opening the UK’s first Flow Rider attraction! This is a really exciting, brand new activity that will appeal to surfers, skaters and complete beginners alike.
So what is it?
A Flow Rider is an artificially created wave of water which you can use to surf and body board on. Anyone can have a go at ‘Flow Riding’, whether you are a skater, surfer, Wake border or just a complete beginner who wants to give it a try.
The artificially generated wave will give landlocked surfers the chance to practice their skills without having to travel to the coast. There are already over 100 Flow riders in 22 countries (and cruise ships) around the world, and the sport of ‘Flow Riding’ is already very popular in America and South Africa where major competitions are held.
How does it work?
Gallons of water are blasted over a soft wave shaped surface, creating a continuous wave about seven inches deep. The surface of the Flow Rider is soft, like a trampoline, so if riders fall off they can just pick themselves up and try again.
So when can I try it?
Watch this space as special gift vouchers will go on sale for advance bookings in the run up to Christmas.Posted on 27/10/2009
